Here’s a great resource to better understand the Hierarch of Information within a design context.
How do we perceive color? Do we all see the same?
Listen to the audio for some great insight into how we see color and develop our visual library of color.
The link below will take you to an interactive website that goes through the history of art. It’s a great resource if you are looking for a quick way to understand some of the movements within history.
Check it out and tell me what you think!
I found this great article that will help with the process of creating logos and what to think about when designing them!
Check it out to see what else might be helpful as you make a logo for a peer.
We have officially have gone through a whole month together! WOO!
In that month we have gone over the Elements and Principles of Design and their relationship to good design, worked on black and white imagery with relationships to positive and negative shapes, designed posters for the upcoming Cosmetology hair show, and are currently working on a poster competition for the City of Nashua in promoting recycling. (Images to come!)
There’s a lot of good stuff in there. While working on each individual assignment we also integrated technology and how to utilize it as another tool for a designer.
Next week we will begin our second unit, which will expand on the theory of design, but also be more focused in the importance of it. During the unit each student will research and present on a designer that they admire, or find interesting; if they feel bold I’ll be encouraging them to reach out to the designer they have researched.
It’s been an exciting year so far, and I can’t believe how fast the year seems to be flying by.
I will update soon with photos of the assignments they have done. In the meantime feel free to go to http://www.behance.net and type in #northdvc into the search criteria and you’ll find student’s work!
